SENIOR PROMOTION PRODUCER
Write, edit and produce promos for FOX 7 with an emphasis on generic/image spots as well as sweeps special reports. Backup for other promotion producers on daily topical promo production. Develop innovative promo concepts for news, programming, station image, website, social media and other projects as needed. 2-3 years experience writing, producing and editing promos in a small to medium market strongly preferred. News promotion experience preferred. Prior writing and producing experience in a professional job required. College degree strongly preferred. Videography and lighting skills strongly desired. Advanced nonlinear editing and Adobe Creative Suite software skills are a must. Must be able to work under pressure to produce high quality spots on tight deadlines, both individually and as part of a production team. Must be a motivated, efficient team player with strong writing skills and post production/editing expertise as well as proactive, positive communication skills. This position will be required to accommodate flexible schedules.
Enterprise, research, report, shoot and edit news stories on a daily basis, emphasizing creativity and originality. Deliver the news in a conversational, credible style. Tell compelling stories, and have excellent live shot abilities. Cover stories and disseminate information over multiple platforms, including television, social media, mobile devices and the internet. Prior experience as a multimedia journalist/television news reporter. College degree preferred in communications related field. Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics. Must have social media savvy as well as traditional media. Must know how to use digital tools – cameras, iPads, editing software, cloud servers – to gather information. Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter and be a team player. Must exercise good judgment. Must be able to carry and set up equipment. Must be able to drive company vehicles. Must have a good driving record.
NEWS REPORTER / FILL-IN WEATHER ANCHOR
Enterprise, research and report news stories on a daily basis, emphasizing creativity and originality. Perform as fill-in weather anchor as needed. Report news and deliver weather in a conversational, credible style. Present material in a compelling and engaging manner. Must have excellent live shot abilities. Ability to ad-lib effectively. Contribute regularly to social media efforts. 2-3 years’ experience as television news reporter. Previous weather anchoring experience. College degree required. Meteorology Certification preferred. Strong knowledge of current events. Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics. Ability to present factual, timely, accurate and responsible weather information. Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter and be a team player. Must exercise good judgment. Working knowledge of newsroom and weather computer systems. Ability to shoot and edit. Strong social media skills. Must be able to drive company vehicles. Must have a good driving record.
Put together a fast-paced, clear newscast with good writing skills, graphics use, and ability to put the best video with the best writing. Work with reporters and photographers to get the best stories on the air. Good at researching topics for live interviews in newscast. Creative producer who can be flexible and change focus of show quickly and efficiently. Two years experience as a newscast producer. Working knowledge of libel laws and journalistic ethics. College degree preferred in related communications field. Must be creative and highly motivated. Must be a team player.
Anchor assigned newscasts. Report as needed and assigned. Anchoring duties may include live field anchoring and other special events. Be an energetic, effective, clear communicator when telling and selling a story. Present material in a compelling and engaging manner. Must be good at research. Excellent ability to conduct live unscripted interviews. Ability to ad-lib effectively. Contribute regularly to social media efforts. Minimum five years’ experience reporting and anchoring. College degree is preferred in a communications related field. Superior knowledge of current events. Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics. Must exercise good judgment. Must have extensive, proven anchoring/reporting experience in television news. Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter, team player and newsroom leader. Strong social media skills. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to drive company vehicles.
Represent station and MyFOXAustin.com to local advertisers. Develop new-to-station and web business. Maximize billing on existing account list. Write, prepare and deliver sales presentations to advertisers. Negotiate business with agency buyers. Cultivate new-to-station advertisers through cold-calling and aggressive prospecting. Prior media advertising sales experience (minimum 1-2 years) required and television sales experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with One Domain, Scarborough, Wide Orbit and CMR is a plus. Excellent people skills. Good driving record.
Conceptualize and create major multi-platform campaigns for news, station image and other station projects from start to finish on deadline. Daily supervision of promotion producers on topical promos and other projects. Backup support for daily topical promotion production and production coordination. This is a “hands on” position with a high production expectation. Works closely with station designer and graphics hub to develop and maintain a consistent station brand. 4 years experience in television promotion production, including at least one year in a supervisory role. Expertise in non-linear editing, including advanced knowledge of adobe software programs. College degree required. Proven leadership skills and positive teamwork track record essential.
