MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) - Authorities say a Texas man has died in a mountaineering accident at a popular Mexican climbing park.

An official with the Nuevo Leon State Prosecutor's Office reports that 26-year-old Andrew Poole of Austin died Saturday in Potrero Chico.

The official declined to be named in accordance with departmental rules, but said Tuesday that Poole fell from a height of about 230 feet (70 meters) on the Cerro del Toro mountain. Three witnesses told investigators that human error was to blame.

The official also said a German climber identified as 28-year-old Janosch Sedlasek fell to his death the previous day in Potrero Chico.

The park is renowned among climbing and rappelling enthusiasts for its towering limestone cliffs and spires.
