One person in critical condition after NW Austin fire

A house fire in Northwest Austin leaves one person in critical condition. The fire happened at 4521 Sidereal Dr. just before 2:00 a.m. this morning.

Flames were seen shooting through the roof of the two story home but firefighters were able to get the fire out quickly.

Once inside, firefighters found a woman in her 40s unconscious. She was pulled from the home and given CPR and was then taken to Brackenridge in critical condition. But her injuries are so severe that she was later flown to the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

The woman's husband and stepson were not home at the time.

Investigators are still unable to determine the cause of the fire. Damages are estimated to be $150,000.
