Learn how to get the best deals on Amazon "Prime Day"

- Amazon’s Prime Day is now eclipsing Black Friday and Cyber Monday as the e-tailer’s busiest day of the year. And that’s good for consumers regardless of where you click that buy button.

Consumer reporter Steve Noviello explains that to access the deals on Tuesday you first need to be a Prime member. Usually, that will cost you about $100. You can also sign up for the free 30-day Prime membership trial. You’ll get you access to the day’s deals and all kinds of perks for 30 days. Just remember to cancel before you are charged if you don’t wish to continue.

Now it’s on to the deals. They will be released in waves throughout the day. If you see something you like, get it because the stock is limited. Amazon does allow you to peek ahead by clicking on the Upcoming Deals tab.

If you have an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or any other device that relies on Amazon’s assistant Alexa, hit her up for special deals throughout the day. Amazon is offering a handful of deals that can only be accessed via Alexa.

As mentioned earlier, Prime Day is now Amazon’s biggest deal day of the year and competitors like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and others are taking note. Many are dropping their own prices below Amazon’s during the day in hopes of poaching potential customers. So be sure to compare prices before you buy. You might just find a better deal somewhere else.

And always remember to figure in any taxes and shipping!

The Prime Day promotion started Monday night and will run through early Wednesday morning.
