Watch: An epic police chase shows just how amazing our boys in blue truly are

- Police go above and beyond to protect and serve us everyday. Here is an epic police chase that shows just how amazing our boys in blue really are.

A wild scene unfolded last week in Houston when a police chase became epic after a police officer jumped out of a helicopter to tackle a burglary suspect who had fled the scene.

It all started when the Houston Police Department responded to a call about a burglary. When they arrived at the scene, the two suspects drove off and the chase of a lifetime ensued. A Houston police department helicopter followed one of the suspects into an open field.

The suspect was struck by a police vehicle but even that didn’t stop him. Worried that they would lose him in the field, the helicopter pilots decided to land so Officer Steven Borgstedte could pursue on foot.  The video, captured by local SkyFOX cameras, shows Borgstedte sprint across the field and tackle the suspect.

After a brief struggle, the man was finally placed in handcuffs with the help of fellow officers. Borgstedte said he has been patrolling for years, but this is the first time he’s ever jumped out of a moving helicopter to make an arrest. The second suspect was later taken into custody as well.

This whole thing was like a scene from a movie!! Way to go to our boys in blue!!
