The DeLoreans of Back to the Future fame can now be yours. Rust free!

Find 1.21 Gigawatts of power and get ready to go 88 miles per hour. The DeLorean DMC-12’s of Back to the Future fame can now be yours. Rust free!

The DeLorean Motor Company, which specializes in parts and restoration of the iconic gull-winged car from the 80’s, will begin production in the coming months.

Thanks to the passing of the Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturing Act, the company can produce replica DeLoreans as long as they meet EPA regulations.

Now potential customers can apply on the website to a non-binding reservation list to purchase the new DeLoreans before the process is opened to the general public.

The company told Road & Track that they hope to sell between 300 and 350 cars in the next six years.

Who knows? Maybe flux capacitor technology will catch up by then!

Options, features, and pricing have yet to be finalized, but the cars are expected to sell for around $100,000. That just so happens to be the 1981 $36,000 sticker price adjusted for inflation.

The cars are just the latest in Back to the Future fever as Nike recently manufactured 89 pairs of auto-lacing sneakers that were raffled off to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

OK, so...

Power-lacing shoes. Check.

DeLoreans. Check.

Now can we please get REAL hoverboards?
