The 2016 ATX Television Festival kicked off its fifth year with an Opening Night event at the Paramount Theatre that included appearances from several of the stars of the shows featured at this year's festival. There was also a panel and screening of the new show "Queen of the South".
Co-founders of the event Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson joined Good Day Austin's Lauren Petrowski in the FOX 7 Studio earlier in the day to discuss what was going on this year.
The stars of the show "Casual" Michaela Watkins and Tommy Dewey along with creator/EP Zander Lehmann chatted with FOX 7 on the carpet.
Also on the carpet were ATX Television Festival Ambassadors Nick Wechsler and Matt Lauria. Lauria was also at the festival to discuss his show "Kingdom" and participate in the reunion with cast members from "Friday Night Lights".
Also from "Friday Night Lights", Katherine Willis and Derek Phillips were at the Paramount Theatre to talk about the reunion. Phillips also talked about a stunt panel he participated in with Nikki Tomlinson and Nick Benseman.
The entire cast of the new series "Queen of the South" were on hand as well for the screening of the show and to participate in a panel discussion after its viewing.
