The ATX Television Festival closed out its fifth year with a reunion of the show "Ugly Betty". Most of the main cast were attendance for the event with all of them saying they didn't have to think twice about reuniting. In fact, the festival's co-founders say the reunion took less than 24 hours to all come together!
It's been six years since the critically acclaimed and award winning show ended. It ran for four seasons and was based on a telenovela and followed the life of Betty Suarez, portrayed by America Ferrera, and her job at a fashion magazine.
The cast participating in the panel at the Paramount Theatre included Ferrera, Michael Urie (Marc St. James), Eric Mabius (Daniel Meade), Vanessa Williams (Wilhelmina Slater), Rebecca Romijn (Alexis Meade), Judith Light (Claire Meade), Tony Plana (Ignacio Suarez), Ana Ortiz (Hilda Suarez), Mark Indelicato (Justin Suarez), Ashley Jensen (Christina McKinney) and co-creator/writer/EP Silvio Horta.
Becki Newton, who played Amanda Tanen, was scheduled to appear but got sick and was unable to attend.
The stars shared their thoughts with FOX 7's Tania Ortega about the show on the red carpet and its impact on its audience.
Co-founders of the festival, Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson, also attended the event and talkd about how the reunion all came together.
