ATX Television Festival 2016: Friday Night Lights Tailgate

"Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose!" It was a bittersweet celebration of a beloved show on June 10 as ATX Television Festival celebrated the 10th anniversary of the premiere of "Friday Night Lights" and five years since the show ended.

The festival hosted a Friday Night Lights Tailgate and Pep Rally and brought fans back to Panther Field and Dillon (actually Del Valle). It was the fifth, and the festival says final, time hosting a FNL event.

While the event was open to the public and there was live music (including a performance from the show's Christian speed music band Crucifictorious), those with festival badges got a special treat and were able to tour the still preserved Panther Field House and check out Panthers murals, blue lockers and even the "P" signed by Jason Street (the quarterback portrayed by Scott Porter)! FOX 7 got a look inside.

The highlight of course was the reuniting of the majority of the cast. Scott Porter (Jason Street), Adrianne Palicki (Tyra Collette), Jesse Plemons (Landry Clark), Gaius Charles (Brian "Smash" Williams), Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty), Dora Madison (Becky Sproles), Grey Damon (Hastings Ruckle), Brad Leland (Buddy Garrity), Derek Phillips (Billy Riggins), Louanne Stephens (Lorraine Saracen), Stacey Oristano (Mindy Collette-Riggins), Liz Mikel (Corinna Williams), Katherine Willis (Joanne Street), Kevin Rankin (Herc), Jeff Rosick (Buddy Garrity Jr.) Libby Villari (Mayor Rodell), Lee Stringer (Bull Stroles), David Born (Superintendent Paul Dunley), Barry Tubb (Tom Cafferty) and Stephanie Hunt (Devin Boland) were all in attendance as well as executive producer Jason Katims.

But it seems the person the crowd was most excited to see (at least judging by the applause and screams) was Mrs. Tami Taylor herself, Connie Britton.

The event ended with a screening of an episode from the fourth season of the series titled "The Son" which mainly dealt with the death of Zach Gilford's character Matt Saracen's father who is killed in combat in Iraq.

Gilford along with Minka Kelly (Lyla Garrity), Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins) and Aimee Teegarden (Julie Taylor) weren't able to make the event but did reunite over the weekend. The were in the Chicago area for a Spartan Race.

Kyle Chandler was also unable to attend but did make an appearance as his character, Coach Eric Taylor, in a filmed segment used before movies at Alamo Drafthouse to remind people to turn off their cell phones and be quiet.

FOX 7 was also able to talk to a few of the stars on the ATX Television Festival's Opening Night red carpet.
