Austin man arrested for stalking Taylor Swift

Despite a restraining order, Austin resident Frank Hoover made multiple attempts to contact Taylor Swift and her family for months.

Approximately 30 emails from August 28, 2016 to October 27, 2016 were sent to Scott Swift, Taylor’s father, detailing Hoover’s infatuation with his daughter. Many included links of YouTube videos or pictures of Taylor and Scott Swift. One email read “without her, I walk the earth alone forever and she’ll continue to experience failed relationships that break her heart,” according to court documents.

After numerous emails Hoover tried to make contact on October 22, 2016 following Taylor Swift’s performance at the COTA racetrack in Austin. Hoover followed Swift to the Atlantic Aviation FBO and arrived shortly after her. He was found staring out the window at Swift’s airplane. A member of Swift’s security team says Hoover told him he was there to take a picture and maybe accompany Taylor Swift wherever she goes.

After failing to talk with the Swifts on their visit to Austin, Hoover’s love emails started turning into threats. “God is going to kill all the Swifts and then the issue will go away,” read one email from Hoover court documents said. There was also an illustration attached of Swift’s family on two planes crashing into “Sin City” Las Vegas.

There is now a warrant out for Hoover’s arrest, violating the restraining order is a third degree felony.
