Child beats back creepy clown with selfie stick

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office posted a warning on its Facebook page regarding evil, creepy clown wannabes: We will not save you if your victim fights back.

The warning, posted Tuesday, reads, "Warning to evil clowns and anyone considering creepy clown activity: We will not be there to save you if your intended target defends himself or herself, and you may face other penalties as well."

The sheriff's office apparently posted the warning after someone dressed as a clown was beaten back with a selfie stick by an 11-year-old riding a bicycle.

The victim told a deputy that he was riding his bike when the clown jumped out from behind some bushes and tried to grab him.

Fearing for his safety, the child grabbed his metal selfie stick and repeatedly hit the 5' 9," 230-pound suspect.

The victim said the suspect was wearing blue clown hair, had a rainbow-painted face, red foam nose, green, long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and black boots.

The victim said the clown chased him for a short distance but tripped and fell to the ground. The clown then went back into the bushes and out of sight. He continued on to school and told his teachers what happened.

The sheriff's office says the victim did not see the clown with any weapons.
