5 songs you didn't know were written by Prince

Singer, entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, there's nothing the man from Minneapolis couldn't do.

Prince not only wrote his own hits, but many hits for artists across the entertainment world. Some go unnoticed as being written by Prince, yet still end up as monster hits.

Here are five songs, you may (or may not) have missed.

1) "Nothing Compares to You" was Sinead O'Connor's biggest hit of her career. The song spent four weeks at No. 1, was nominated for three Grammy's, and was also written by Prince.

2) “Manic Monday“ by The Bangles- “Manic Monday” was the first single of the rock band's second record “Different Light.”

3) “Stand Back” by Stevie Nicks - The Fleetwood Mac singer, feverish with inspiration after listening to Prince’s “Little Red Corvette,” wrote this 1983 single on a drive during her honeymoon with then-husband Kim Anderson, she told MTV News in a 2009 interview. Prince stopped bylater to tune the song, and a hit was born.

4) “Round and Round“ by Tevin Campbell - The song appears on the soundtrack for Graffiti Bridge, which Prince also wrote, directed, and starred. “Round and Round” was Tevin Campbell’s first ever single.

5) “I Feel For You“ by Chaka Khan. Prince wrote “I Feel For You” in 1979, but Chaka Khan covered it and it became a monster hit in 1984, which was also the same year as Purple Rain.
