5 family members, including baby, fatally shot at Lake Livingston home

BLANCHARD, Texas (FOX 26) — Authorities are investigating what lead to fatal shooting of five family members, including a baby, at a home in Polk County.

Polk County deputies and troopers from the Texas Highway Patrol responded to a call for help at a ranch on FM 3126 near Lake Livingston around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities arrived to find three people fatally shot outside and two people fatally shot inside the house. Among those shot were four adults and a 15-month-old girl.

"At this time, no arrests have been made, nor at this point are we looking for any suspects," says Chief Bryon Lyon with the Polk County Sheriff’s Department.

The chief did not want to call the shooting a murder-suicide until there's a ruling from the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
