Thursday's Meal: Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Fall is here and Norma Rae Escandon from Whole Foods shares a low fat dessert recipe that everyone can enjoy. 

The dessert is free of dairy, soy, gluten and cholesterol and is vegan and low fat. You can add to the nuitritional value with some ground flaxseeds or a pinch of nutmeg.

The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients

§  ½ cup chilled limited edition Almond Dream Pumpkin Spice Almond Drink

§  1 cup vanilla non-dairy frozen dessert

§  ½ can pumpkin

§  ½ cup ice

§  ¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice

§  Non-Dairy whip topping (optional)

§  Clove (optional)

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.  Pour into glasses. Garnish with a dollop of non-dairy whip topping and a pinch of clove (optional). Enjoy immediately!
