Camp in Motion offers summer fun for kids with cerebral palsy and other neurological diagnoses

It's a one-of-a-kind camp for kids with special needs. Camp in Motion is designed for kids ages 7-21 with cerebral palsy and other neurological diagnoses.

The camp started last year with one week and is expanding this summer to four weeks. Laura Avery noticed the need for a camp for her daughter Kate. She helped make the camp a reality. The camp is a partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and the YMCA of Austin.

The camp costs $765 but can be submitted to most health insurance plans as the staffers are pediatric physical and occupational therapists along with volunteers.

Scholarships are available and the camp takes place at the YMCA in Southwest Austin.
