Churches across Central Texas celebrate Easter

Churches across Central Texas celebrated Easter this weekend.

On Sunday, children were hunting two-thousand eggs at the Central Christian Church.

The eggs were spread across the church's courtyard in downtown Austin. Although the egg hunt was opened to everyone, the Pastor says there is more to Easter than putting eggs in a basket.

"The bigger picture we celebrate our risen Christ," explained Heidi Bounds, the executive pastor for Central Christian Church of Austin. "For Easter, it's important that we celebrate the secular activities that we do, but we celebrate the true reason why Easter is here."

The kids even got to make some crafts for Easter before hunting the eggs.
