COPSync: High tech terrorism response

New technology is changing the way officers respond and it was developed right here in Texas. COPSync uses GPS based vehicle locators and distance based alerts for crimes in progress.
CEO Ronald Woessner stopped by Good Day Austin to share how the software works.
For example if someone is hiding in a bathroom while an active shooter situation is in progress and they call 911 through GPS dispatch can connect with the five closest officers to that location. The officers, then have the ability to connect directly with the caller in the bathroom. The software also sends police downloadable sketches of the building where the shooter is. The idea is to get officers to the scene faster and arm them with as much knowledge as possible.
