Daniel Curtis is on a mission to give back to those in need. Five years ago he found himself in need. "I've come to discover the beauty in helping others which is something I didn't appreciate until I needed help," said Curtis inside the gym.
It's a place he's grateful for and a resource that's free to those with spinal cord injuries. In 2011 Daniel took a dive into the pool that changed his life. His injury has opened his eyes and heart in a way he never imagined.
"In the early days when you have an injury it's hard to wrap your head around the possibility that you can have a meaningful life," said Daniel. He has found meaning in a big way. He's teamed up with the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation to raise money to support the foundation's effort to cure paralysis through research, recovery and recreation.
On Thursday, August 11 is the 6th annual Pay It Forward with Daniel Curtis event. The night features food from 15 Austin restaurants, live music and an auction.
Tickets are $75 and VIP tickets are $125
