VIDEO: A Big Mac was covered with molten copper and the results are terrifying

Totaling 540 calories, along with 970 grams of sodium, even a die-hard fan of McDonald's would say that the franchise's Big Mac isn't one of the healthiest items on the menu.

Just how unhealthy is it? A YouTube user took testing of unhealthy fast food to the next level when he poured molten copper over a fresh-out-the-box Big Mac---leading it to barely react to the liquid at all.

The results are jaw-dropping, and utterly terrifying. If this is the conclusion of a YouTube experiment, what is it doing to our insides?

It's science! The video is an example of the Leidenfrost effect, which is defined by Engineers Edge as "a phenomenon in which a liquid, in near contact with a mass significantly hotter than the liquid's boiling point, produces an insulating vapor layer keeping that liquid from boiling rapidly.
