FOX 32 NEWS - New research from the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee found that people who drink between three and five cups a day may lower their risk of Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
In fact, those who drink between three and five cups of coffee a days may lower their risk by up to 27 percent.
"Moderate coffee consumption could play a significant role in reducing cognitive decline which would impact health outcomes and healthcare spending," Professor Rodrigo A. Cunha of University of Coimbra in Portugal told The Daily Meal.
The combination of caffeine, antioxidants and polyphenol, which are naturally found in coffee, is likely what helps with preventing the diseases from coming about, the new research suggests.
Consuming up to 4 to 5 cups of coffee a day also does not raise any immediate health concerns.
