Deputies in Hillsborough County say two teens have been arrested for stealing a puppy from Animal Services.

It was Tuesday night when the young shepherd mix disappeared from its cage at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center facility on Falkenburg Road.  Surveillance footage eventually led deputies to two juveniles, who were arrested the next night and the puppy was recovered.

Now, while the suspects find themselves behind bars, the puppy is enjoying newfound freedom.  One of the investigating deputies, Dep. Jennifer Bordorano,  has decided to adopt it.

She named him "Stryker," after her brother who drove a Stryker while serving in Iraq.
