100 Club fundraiser at local McDonald's restaurants

71 Austin-area McDonald's restaurants will be donating a portion of sales today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the 100 Club of Central Texas. The organization gives financial support to first responders injured in the line of duty as well as family members of those who lose their lives.

AFD Chief Rhoda Mae Kerr worked the cash register at one location as did APD Chief Art Acevedo.

Last year, local McDonald's restaurants raised $15,000 for the organization. The 100 Club has also helped in other ways. Last year they helped Granger police get ballistic vests. The organization has also provided funding for scholarships and training.

Funds not only go to the 100 Club of Central Texas but also the Hill Country 100 Club which serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco and Lampasas Counties.
