Md. mother seeks help to find priceless necklace holding ashes of her late twin children

- A Maryland mother is heartbroken and she is hoping the public can help her find a one-of-a-kind necklace.

“We have a little girl now, and when I wear it, I feel like they're with us a little bit,” said Kristina Terry. “Having our family kind of complete like it should be.”

This is not an ordinary necklace.

“The necklace is fillable so it has the ashes inside,” said Terry. “It's just something that can't be replaced.”

The ashes are of Terry’s twins who passed away three years ago.

“I'm hoping that somebody sees it, that came across it, that finds it on the street, that maybe found it and doesn't know who it belonged to,” she said.

Terry last remembers wearing the necklace on Friday in Annapolis.

“We left the Harbor Center Amish Market and we came here for dinner, but then they had a band playing … There were a thousand people out here,” said Terry.

“I'm always optimistic,” said Justin Terry, Kristina’s husband. “I'm hoping and I try to stay positive that it will turn up.”

Since Saturday, Kristina Terry’s post about the necklace on Facebook has nearly 40,000 shares and more than 1,000 comments and likes.

“On Facebook, I saw this necklace and so I shared it with all my friends hoping that somebody would see it,” said Bud Stupi. “But it was such a cool thing, the twins, the ashes -- it just touched my heart.”

On Monday night, the Terry family and complete strangers were passing out fliers hoping for the best.

“Maybe they'll see the post somewhere and they'll see the news or the paper or something and turn it in,” said Terry.

The band was performing Friday night at Annapolis Towne Center and at least a thousand people attended.

The Terry family said they have searched online including Craigslist and eBay. They have also searched local pawn shops, but nothing has turned up yet.
