7-Eleven's Slurpee is celebrating its 50th birthday in a big way

7-Eleven Day (aka free Slurpee day) is almost here. This year’s celebration is extra special since the world-famous Slurpee celebrates its 50th year in existence.

Like Starbucks, 7-Eleven rings in its birthday with a birthday-themed rendition of one of its iconic offerings — in the convenience store's case, it's the famous Slurpee. The limited-edition Birthday Cake Slurpee is available at participating stores now until supplies last. The chain describes it as “the perfect combination of traditional birthday cake and vanilla ice cream flavor — a delicious frozen celebration for your taste buds."

On July 11, or 7-Eleven Day, convenience store customers can enjoy a free small Slurpee drink of any flavor at participating stores from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Participating stores will also offer new limited-time Slurpee products and snacks, like Slurpee cotton candy, Slurpee-flavored ChapStick, and birthday doughnuts.

The celebration continues with Slurpee Week, July 12 through 18, where customers who purchase seven Slurpee drinks during the week using the 7-Eleven mobile app will receive credits for 11 free Slurpee drinks.

All Slurpee, all the time. Guess it's officially Slurpee season.
