Bill downgraded but still impacting Central Texas

Tropical Storm Bill lost its strength and was downgraded to a Tropical Depression but it's still expected to bring heavy rainfall to several areas of Texas. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for most of Central Texas until Thursday afternoon.

Counties in the Flash Flood Watch include Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Guadalupe, Hays, Lampasas, Lee, Llano, Milam, Travis and Williamson.

There are parts of the area that took a major hit from the heavy wind and rain, including Williamson County and East Central Texas. Though one area of concern that escaped with no major issues was Shoal Creek in Downtown Austin. The area was pummeled during the Memorial Day flood when the creek rose 20 feet and flooded several blocks and wrecked businesses.

As a precaution with Bill approaching, many homeowners and business owners didn't take any chances this time around. All day Tuesday and into the overnight hours, people put sandbags down as a precaution.

Fortunately it did not flood in the area or really anywhere in the immediate Austin-metro area. However other parts of Central Texas did see some flooding particularly in Brushy Creek in Round Rock and in Giddings and La Grange.

Several low water crossings have also been closed. For the latest on the closings, you can head to ATXfloods here.
