Three animals are dead and one person is displaced after a Sunday morning North Austin duplex fire.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 1900 block of Morrow St. just before 8:30 a.m.

According to the Austin Fire Department, several animals and reptiles were rescued but two cats and at least one reptile died during the fire. One person, who was living in the home, is displaced.

Investigators said the fire was caused by a malfunctioning heat lamp that was located in a room that housed reptiles.
