Divers search pond for weapon used in Katie Eager murder

Cedar Park police continue to search for the weapon used in connection to Katie Eager's murder.

The 24-year-old was found shot to death in February.

While Eagers boyfriend is being charged, police never found the gun.

Williamson County Sheriff's divers wrapped up their search in the pond that separates Austin from Cedar Creek

Cedar Park Police assisted by combing the banks. Everyone hoping to recover the key piece of missing evidence.

"Our CID team has been searching multiple locations looking for that evidence," said Cedar Park Police Lieutenant Chase Thomas, of the ongoing hunt.

Eager's boyfriend Adam Solis was arrested for her murder at his parent's home in San Antonio and police say they searched that area for the gun but came up empty handed.

The retention pond is about as wide as a football field and three to eight feet deep. Police say divers packed up for the day because of the changing temperature. They are using special gear to look for what could be lying on the pond floor.

"It's quite a bit of space. The team takes a lot of time, they are thorough and meticulous when they go through the water - it is a long an arduous process," said Lt. Chance Thomas with the Cedar Park Police Department.

Divers will continue continue to search the area starting Thursday morning. Police say they will cover every inch until they finish.
