Woman in jail accused of killing her mother

A woman is in jail accused of killing her mother.

Burnet County deputies say 63-year-old Pamela Ross was strangled. Deputies found Ross's body inside a travel trailer at an RV park Friday morning.

By that time, her daughter was already in jail.

Deputies say they were called to do a welfare check on Ross at the Inks Lake RV park where she lived.

When deputies didn't get a response at the door of Ross's RV, they looked into a window and saw Ross's body lying on the floor.

The Medical Examiner's Office determined that Ross was strangled.

Prior to the discovery of Ross' body, her daughter, 39-year-old Rhonda Carrell, was arrested in Johnson City for DWI. She was booked into the Blanco County Jail.

Deputies found carrell to be a person of interest and charged her with murder.

We spoke to the manager of the RV park. He says Ross lived there for almost a year. Her daughter moved in about a month ago and he never noticed there was any trouble in their relationship.

"It was really a shock to find out what happened to her. Especially who had done it. You just don't find something like that with your own children, but I guess anything can happen," said Earl Ragland with INKS Lake RV Park.

Ragland says Ross leaves behind a son. Her daughter is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
