About 1,500 pounds of marijuana found in tank of toilet vacuum service truck

A traffic violation stop in Fayette County leads to the arrest of a 42-year-old Laredo man who had nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana in several bundles in the tank of his toilet vacuum service truck.

In a press release, Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek says the Fayette County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Canine Unit stopped the toilet vacuum service truck on Interstate 10 at the 659 mile marker on January 28 at around 1:30 p.m.

The release says that after speaking with the truck's driver, several criminal indicators were observed and the vehicle was searched with consent. The lid to the vacuum tank on the bed of the truck was removed and inside the tank was a number of marijuana bundles.

After unloading the bundles, approximately 1,495 pounds of marijuana was removed.

Jose Navarro has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
