AFD investigating Northwest Austin house fire

Arson investigators are looking into a bizarre early morning incident where a homeowner was found a mile away from her residence. She is suffering from hypothermia hours after firefighters responded to a fire at her home.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the early morning house fire in Northwest Austin. It started around 3 a.m. at a single-family home on Mesa Drive. Firefighters say they first attempted to attack flames on the inside but the fire was so intense they were forced to attack it from the outside. They hope to determine the cause by the end of the day.

As for how the homeowner ended up where she did, FOX 7 is told that investigators will be going to Brackenridge Hospital where the woman is getting treatment to speak to her.
