Another pedestrian hit and killed on Austin's roads

The investigation continues into the auto-pedestrian accident that happened in Northeast Austin. Police are calling it a hit-and-run.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Ed Bluestein Boulevard and Loyola Lane. The victim is a 25-year-old white female.

She was pronounced dead on scene when medics arrived. Police say the driver never stopped.

There are witnesses and police are hoping they can help with the investigation. It’s unclear if the victim was walking in the crosswalk or alongside the road when she was hit. Either way police say the area where the accident happened is very dark and can be a problem.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Austin Police Department immediately.

This is the fifth pedestrian to die after being hit by a car in the past week.
