APD asking for public's help in animal cruelty case

The Austin Police Department Animal Cruelty Unit is asking for help in locating anyone who may have information about a three-month-old Brindle Pit Bull puppy that was found in the 1400 block of East Applegate Drive on April 2 at around 3 p.m. The puppy was found inside a wire cage with a sheet draped over it.

Police say the puppy was extremely thin, weighing only 14 pounds, and covered in urine and had an injury to its left eye. The dog was wearing a turquoise harness with white trim. The puppy died later as a result of its injuries.

Anyone with information about this puppy is asked to call the APD Animal Cruelty tip line at 512-978-0523.
