APD Officer shot during routine training
The Austin Police Department confirms that a police officer was shot during routine training at the Austin Police Academy.
APD says he shot himself in the leg.
EMS responded and took the officer to UMC Brackenridge hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An internal review of the accident is being conducted by the department.
