Austin Aztex looking for a home after floods

Tuesday afternoon, the Austin Aztex released a statement saying they are looking for possible venue options after Monday's storms flooded House Park.

In a statement, team officials said the stadium and field are not suitable to play.

The statement also said Aztex front office and ownership are looking at all possible venue options to resume their schedule, starting with their next home game on June 20th and possibly for the remainder of the season.

No member of the Austin Aztex's team and employers nor were any Austin ISD employees injured during the flooding.

Here is the statement in full from the Austin Aztex website:

"Earlier Tuesday morning, the Austin Aztex visited House Park Stadium to help assess the damage resulting in flooding from Shoal Creek on Monday, May 25. Fortunately, no Austin Aztex or Austin Independent School District employees were injured during the flooding.

However, the stadium is in bad shape.

If the Aztex were to play a home game this week, the stadium and field would not be suitable to play. The Aztex are awaiting official word from AISD on the status of the field for the remainder of the 2015 season. Until then, the Aztex front office and ownership are looking at all possible venue options to resume their schedule, starting with their next home game on June 20th and possibly the remainder of the season.

We will be sure to keep you, our fans and our city, up to date with developments as they emerge."
