Authorities search for man who disappeared in East Travis County

The search for a missing man in East Travis County has wrapped up for the night.

Dive teams will head back to little Webberville Park Saturday to comb through the Colorado River where a man was last seen.

A woman called Travis County dispatch around 3 o'clock to report that missing man.

She told officers she was sitting at a picnic table near the river when a man walked by, said he might go swimming and then walked down to the river.

The woman never saw him return and later found his clothes along the river bank.

Travis county officers and Austin first responders searched from the water and the sky for three hours but have found no sign of the man.

He is described as Hispanic, in his mid-20's with a medium build and medium length hair.

The woman who reported him missing told officers he seemed disoriented when she spoke with him, and he might have been drinking.

“This person was concerned because she thought she saw him go into the river possibly and then he was just gone so at this point we think that he's a missing person and we want people to call 911 if they see anyone in the area who looks disoriented," said Lisa Block, a Spokesperson for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers are really not sure at this point if the man ever got out of the river.

They're asking the public to give them a call if they see a man matching his description.
