Cause of Pflugerville house fire under investigation

An early morning fire destroys a home in Pflugerville and leaves several people homeless.

The two story home on East Howard Lane caught fire around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from both Pflugerville and Austin Fire Departments were called to help.

All the people home were able to get out safely.

When firefighters arrived smoke was pouring from the home and flames were shooting out of the roof.

The home is located at the end of a long drive, so in addition to having fire trucks at the house, crews also had to drag hoses from engines parked along the street while also braving freezing temperatures.

It's unclear if the fire is weather related.

The cause is under investigation.
