Director of the New 'Star Wars' Grants Wish of Terminally Ill Fan

- A dying man's wish was granted by a Hollywood director. Joe Leiker was told last January that cancer in his brain had returned and there wasn't much doctors could do.

"The tumor is on the motor strip of his brain and they cannot and could not operate on him," said Leiker's mother, Judy Walker.

Leiker has always been a self proclaimed Star Wars fanatic and his last wish was to see the new film that debuted in December.

"He was hoping God was going to let him see the latest Star Wars movie that was going to show in December before he took him home," Walker said.

The movie's director, J.J. Abrams, found this out and called Leiker up.

"This is a person who has a very compassionate caring heart," said Walker. "I mean when you think about where he is at in the industry and he took the time out of his busy schedule and cared enough about Joe."

Abrams sent him a copy of the movie for him to watch at home before it was released in theaters.

"And so we watched it that day. And he called back that night and talked to Joe and I both for about 20 minutes and I said by the way I never saw the crappy parts," Walker said. "If I could tell him something, thank you. Just making Joe's wish come true."
Just 24 hours after Abrams spoke with Leiker, his team arrived in Kansas with a special copy of the movie that even came with its own security!
