Holocaust survivor fulfills lifetime dream to sing National Anthem

- Hermina Hirsch, an 89-year-old Holocaust survivor, sang the national anthem Saturday at the Detroit Tigers game in Comerica Park, fulfilling a longtime dream of hers.

She spoke of her long-held dream to sing the national anthem at a Major League Baseball game in April at a family dinner. Hirsch's family recorded a video of her singing her rendition and shared it on social media.

The Detroit Tigers promotions department saw the video and told Hirsch that her wish will come true!

Hirsch was interviewed by FOX Sports Detroit and took part in pre-national anthem activities prior to the game starting. "We were all crying with joy," said Andrea Hirsch, Hermina's granddaughter.

Hirsch has been singing the national anthem for years during Holocaust survivor meetings at The Jewish Center in West Bloomfield.

Congratulations Hermina on a job well done! We are so proud of you!
