Preview of SXSW 2016

South by Southwest is once again set to transform Austin. The festival kicks off today with SXSWedu and continues for the next two weeks.

Most of the events for SXSWedu are at the Hilton and the Convention Center downtown. That means more congestion in the area and parking will be an issue as well.

On Friday, March 11 the Interacitve portion begins. Many of the events for Interactive will also be taking place around the Convention Center.

There will be many high profile keynote speakers throughot the festival but perhaps none bigger than President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

President Obama will be part of a Keynote Conversation during Interactive on March 11 and First Lady Michelle Obama will be the opening Keynote at SXSW Music on March 16. You can learn more about what they will speaking about here.

The Music portion of SXSW begins on March 15 and includes free shows at Auditorium Shores. To attend free shows you'll need a guest pass. Get more information about lineups here.

The Film portion begins on March 11. You'll need a pass to attend screenings and the Q&A's but FOX 7 will be on the red carpets for many of the big premieres and will have more on our website, social media and YouTube page.
