The Travis County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into the death of a woman at a home in the 13800 block of Windmill Circle. The woman was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Investigators responded to a 9-1-1 call at around 7 p.m. on August 25 and were on the scene for nearly 12 hours. They say it’s not clear if the woman’s death was self-inflicted but a semi-automatic weapon was found at the scene.
FOX 7 spoke to the victim’s mother who says she doesn’t believe her daughter would kill herself. She says her daughter had too much to live for, including a four-month-old baby and college.
The victim’s mother says she spoke to her daughter hours before she was found dead and says that her daughter seemed happy.
Several other people were home at the time of the shooting, including the victim’s grandfather who heard the gunshots and called 9-1-1.
Authorities say everyone that was in the home is cooperating.
FOX 7 will continue to follow this story and update it as more information becomes available.
