19-year-old arrested for deadly shooting at apartment complex

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department has arrested and charged 19-year-old Xavier Lewis for the murder of Ebony Michelle Sheppard. The 30-year-old mother was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Travis Station Apartments on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

Through their investigation, Homicide and Robbery Detectives linked Lewis as the suspect in several aggravated robberies that occurred Christmas Day in the surrounding area and as the suspect in the December 26, 2017 homicide.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force took Lewis into custody on December 28, 2017 in Pflugerville without incident. He was booked into the Travis County Jail on five counts of aggravated robbery with a $100,000 bond on each and one count of capital murder.

A bond has not yet been set for that charge.
