Serial rock throwing suspect to go on trial for sex crime charges

The I-35 serial rock throwing suspect made an appearance in a Travis County courtroom Thursday morning but it was to address a series of sex crime charges.

Patrick Eugene Johnson currently has seven charges against him for the rock throwing incidents.

On Monday he goes on trial for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one count of indecency with a child by contact and one count of indecency with a child by exposure.

Those charges all tie into a 2013 case involving a teen who says for two years he and Johnson would engage in sexual activity in exchange for drugs and money.

Johnson re-entered a plea of not guilty for each count.

He faces up to life in prison.

In June, Johnson was pegged by police as being the I-35 serial rock thrower. Officers reported responding to nearly 100 incidents of rocks being hurled at moving vehicles from 2014 up until Johnson's arrest this summer. Victims were left with debilitating injuries.

Charges are still being filed for those cases.

As for these sex crime charges, Johnson will be in court Monday morning at 9 a.m. and FOX 7 will be there.
