AAA predicts busiest Thanksgiving holiday travel since 2007

Pack your patience if you plan to carve out some time to sit around the Thanksgiving table this week especially if you're traveling.

"AAA Texas is projecting 3.9 million people will be taking a trip of 50 miles or more this Thanksgiving," said Doug Shupe with AAA Texas.

AAA wants to remind folks to prepare your vehicles before you hit the roads. Distractions can become dangerous so be sure to pay attention to the roadways.

The one thing your wallet will enjoy this holiday season is filling up. Drivers are seeing the second cheapest Thanksgiving gas prices since 2008.

If you're flying chances are you are paying more to do so. Holiday airfares are up about 21 percent.

Overall 48.7 million people will travel across the nation. Wherever you go, make sure you get there safely.
