$3 million worth of cocaine seized in Fayette County

A traffic stop resulted in millions of dollars worth of cocaine being taken off the streets. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office discovered 32 kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $3 million, after pulling over a Ford Fusion for a traffic violation.

According to FCSO, the Ford Fusion was stopped at the 659 mile mark of Interstate 10 in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 9, 2018. After speaking to the driver and his girlfriend, deputies became suspicious.

K9 partner Lobos swept the vehicle and alerted the deputies of illegal narcotics. Compartments were discovered to be built into the seats, hiding the kilos of cocaine.

The driver, 20-year-old Cesar Garcia-Villalon, and the passenger, 21-year-old Paola Trejo-Gonzalez, were both arrested and face felony charges for drug possession.
