According to a letter sent to Parents of Temple ISD students...
Late this morning, Temple ISD was made aware of a threat against the district on social media.
Immediately, we contacted the Temple Police Department who is now investigating. As they investigate, they are providing a strong police presence at Temple ISD schools. We share your concern for our students' safety. If there is anything that makes your students feel unsafe, please encourage them to report it to their principal. We take every report seriously.
The author posted a photograph of a handgun along with a threat that “blood will be shed” to the Temple High Twitter account. The officers of the Temple Police Department School Resource Unit, who were already on alert following the recent threat to Belton campuses, were advised to remain vigilant while patrolling their campuses. The district patrol officers will also be increasing their presence on local campuses.
Anyone with information about this offense is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS (Local (254) 526-TIPS).
