Stop by Austin Animal Center for ‘Ugly Sweater Weekend' and Santa

The Austin Animal Center is offering a holiday special this weekend for those who wear their “Ugliest Holiday Sweater.”

Adoption fees will be waived on Dec. 12 and 13— from 3 to 7 p.m.— for new pet adopters who wear their best ugly sweaters… and, additionally, a special photo session with the one and only, Santa Claus.

All pets adopted will include spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations– a package valued at more than $200, the shelter said.

The Friends of Austin Animal Center is looking for donations of items from their Amazon Wish List for the animals at the shelter. Items can also be dropped off at the Austin Animal Center daily.

Hoping to adopt a pet? Here’s where you can go:

  • Austin Animal Center 7201 Levander Loop
  • Town Lake Animal Center, 1156 W. Cesar Chavez St.

The centers are open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.  For more information, click here.

The Austin Animal Center said the usual adoption fee is $75. The shelter will also offer specials on pet adoptions through Jan. 3, 2016.  Pet adoptions for all ready-to-go dogs will be $50 and all ready to go cats will be $25.
