6th St shooter, Endicott McCray, guilty of murder

A sentencing hearing will continue Friday for Endicott McCray. Thursday afternoon a Travis County jury ruled he committed Murder last year when he fired several shots on 6th Street.

Prosecutors in closing arguments told the jury that McCray was angry at his brother in law when the two confronted each other.  During the trial two witnesses identified McCray as the gunman. His hat was also found at the scene.

Defense attorneys argued that authorities got the wrong man, and McCray was not on 6th street that night. The jury saw what took place as the shots started. Security video from the voodoo donut store shows how people on 6th street scattered seeking cover. 5 people were shot- among them was Tegnike Moultrie who was killed. Her family held hands and cried when the verdict was read.

Both families declined to comment when they left court.
