Texas DPS increases reward for fugitive to $10,000

The Texas Department of Public Safety has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of Israel Aguirre, 34, to $10,000.

Aguirre, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, is wanted for a 2002 murder in Kaufman County. Aguirre was arrested for the crime but was deported to Mexico before trial. He was arrested again in the United States three years later and made several court appearances before absconding.

According to DPS, Aguirre has connections to the Dallas area as well as Mexico.

DPS said Aguirre is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest and left arm and may go by the following names: Israel Aguirre Jaimez, Israel Aguirre-Jaimez or Israel Jaimez Carmona.

Texas DPS said the reward will be paid for information leading to Aguirre's capture if the tip comes in during the month of March.
