A chance to win Franklin BBQ if you donate blood

(AUSTIN, TX)  January 3, 2017 – We Are Blood, formerly The Blood Center of Central Texas, is hosting a private dinner party at Franklin Barbecue. What do you have to do to go? Donate blood.

In honor of National Volunteer Blood Donor Month this January, We Are Blood wants to make sure Central Texans understand the impact of blood donation. “As the sole supplier of blood to hospitals and medical facilities in the 10-county region, we rely on volunteer blood donors to ensure all Central Texas patients have access to life-saving blood when they need it,” said Marshall Cothran, We Are Blood’s CEO. “We want to inspire people to donate locally and to take pride in this precious shared resource.”

As such, anyone who donates blood with We Are Blood this January will be entered to win tickets to the private dinner party at Franklin Barbecue. 30 local donors (and their plus-ones) will be randomly selected at the end of the month. The dinner will be held February 11, 2017.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 115 lbs. for whole blood donation and 110 lbs. for platelet donation, be in good health and provide a photo ID.

For location and hours of fixed sites, please visit We Are Blood’s website at weareblood.org or call (512) 206-1266.
