APD identifies victim of Friday's fatal crash

The Austin Police Department said Robert J. Catlin White, 40, was the victim of Friday's fatal crash on the 6300 block of East William Cannon Drive.

According to police, White was traveling east on William Cannon when he lost control of his 1996 Toyota Tercel. White's vehicle went off of the roadway and struck a utility pole around 11:30 P.M. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police are still investigating how White lost control of his car.

APD is asking anyone with information to call Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-5789.

According to police, this is the third-fatal traffic crash of the year. At this time in 2015, there were five fatal crashes with five deaths.
